Rihanna: The Black "Madonna"

In  People Choice awards 2011, Rihanna got the best pop star, whose debuted just six years ago. The 1^st music album “Music of the Sun” was released in 2005. She got limelight as 1 million copies were sold around the world. The title song entered into the billboard 100. Then A Girl Like Me(2006),Good Girl Gone Bad(2007), Rated R (2009).Every album  rocked her place in the music world.

But, there was a time, when her life was full of sorrows.Her childhood was deeply affected by her father's addiction to crack cocaine and her parents' rocky marriage, which ended when she was fourteen years old. The eldest of three children, Rihanna attended the prestigious Combermere School, where she was a founding member of a musical trio and won the Miss Combermere Pageant.

In 2003, producer Evan Rogers was vacationing in Barbados with his wife. One day Rihanna & her band-mates met with him.. .Rihanna sang Destiny's Child's cover of "Emotion" .Evan said “the minute Rihanna walked into the room, it was like the other two girls didn't exist.". then the history starts . Rogers helped her record a demo of her unique sound, a mix of pop, reggae, dancehall and soca. She was subsequently signed to Def Jam records at age 16.

But the famous Hip-hop singer Eminem feat. Rihanna ‘Love The Way You Lie’ brought her the new era of success. The song broke the UK top chart record for the previous 40 years.It claimed the top spot on twenty-three charts for 20 consecutive weeks  which includes- Australia,Austria,Belgium,Canada,Denmark,Finland,France,New Zealand,Germany,Hungary,
Ireland,Italy,Norway,Poland,Russia,Romania,Spain,Sweden & Switzerland

The song won the Best Rap/Hip-Hop Track award at the Teen Choice Awards 2010. The song won the Favorite Song and Favorite Music Video award at the People's Choice Awards. The song has also been nominated for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Short Form Music Video and Best Rap Song in the 2010 Grammy Awards.

Rihanna is set to make her film debut 'Battleship,' based on the classic board game. She joins Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard for Peter Berg's adaptation of the popular game.

Rhianna wanted to be the black Madonna in her childhood .She said about that "[Madonna] has reinvented herself throughout her career and moved into different areas. I want to be the black Madonna.”One of Rihanna's major influences and idols is Mariah Carey. She says, "I looked up to [Mariah] a lot and I still do. I admire her as an artist, and to [compete with her] was a moment I will never forget for the rest of my life. 

Along her singing, recently Rihanna has recently  entered  into the Hollywood.The 22-year-old pop star is set to make her film debut in Peter Berg's "Battleship" movie, set for release in May of 2012 .
